Mitchell
Hebrews 13:8 -Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
One day, when I was working as a flight attendant, a male passenger stopped me and asked for a bag of ice. His face appeared distressed, and I could see that he was in pain. I asked him what was the matter, and he said that he had just had knee surgery and that he had run out of pain medicine. At that moment, I knew that God had put me in this man's path for a purpose. So I promptly walked into the galley, scooped a bunch of ice into a plastic bag, spun the top around and lifted it up to God. I asked God to take away the man's pain and to heal his knee expeditiously. Then I gave the makeshift ice pack to the man and continued to serve surrounding passengers.
I kept an eye on the man, and after I finished my service, I approached him again. I could tell from the look on his face that he was still hurting. Indeed, he confirmed that some of the pain was gone, but not all. He explained that he had experienced several injuries and surgeries on his knee from playing years of tennis.
As I stood in the aisle listening to this man's story, I felt a righteous indignation rise up in me. I simply could not stand to see him in pain. And I felt strongly compelled by the Holy Spirit to pray for this man. So I asked him if I might do so. I believe it was out of sheer desperation that he agreed. So he removed the ice pack, and I knelt in the aisle, right in first class, which was full of on looking passengers. I began to pray softly, out loud. I was uncomfortable with everyone staring, but I continued to pray because I knew I was to step up, be bold, share the heart of Jesus and do what Jesus would have done for this man according to the gospels.
When I finished praying, I looked up at the man, and I asked Him how his knee felt. He slowly opened his eyes and smiled carefully. Then a surprised look appeared across his face, and he said quietly, "All the pain is gone." He smiled big, and he asked me if it was magic. I shared with him it was the healing power of God and that the Father of the universe loved him with an everlasting love so great that He didn't want him to hurt anymore. The man's eyes began to well up with tears. And I asked him whether he knew Jesus. He replied that he was "a non-practicing Methodist." As I began to explain to him about having a personal relationship with Jesus, I wondered whether this man had anyone else to pray for him. Just the thought of the possibility that he might not broke my heart, and I was reminded, once again, that my higher purpose in my workplace was to reach out to others with the heart of Jesus.
What a perfect mission field our workplaces are! When we consider that fulltime workers spend at least 50% of their waking hours on the job, it makes sense that we Christians are to show up for more than a paycheck. The miracle of healing is one way Jesus demonstrated His love for others and boosted their faith throughout the gospels, and He still does today. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Healing opportunities abound, and they are not all physical. Sometimes they are emotional or spiritual.
Ask the Lord to show you who among you is in need of healing, and ask Him to enable you to meet that need through His healing power. You could find that the people He identifies may not have anyone else praying for them.

Grace is Always the First Word

Grace is Always the First Word
Pastor Marvin Williams
The film Amazing Grace chronicles William Wilberforce as he endeavors to end the British transatlantic slave trade in the nineteenth century.
Wilberforce had made an earlier visit to his old pastor and friend John Newton. Newton was a former captain of a slave ship prior to his conversion to Christ, and Wilberforce was hopeful that Newton would give an account of his slave-ship days. Newton, however, refused to do so, because the experience and the "20,000 ghosts" haunted him too greatly.
Now, near success in ending the slave trade, Wilberforce visited Newton and discovered that he had recorded his account. His eyesight now gone, Newton said to Wilberforce, "You must use it. Names, records, ship records, ports, people -- everything I remember is in here. Although my memory is fading, I remember two things very clearly: I'm a great sinner, and Christ is a great Savior." It was apparent that John Newton had recognized the depth of his sin and opened the door to experience God's amazing grace in his life.
entire families, committed murder (at least with a gun or a knife), or grand larceny of the human kind. Yet when I think about what we were, we were just as far from God as Newton was before he became a follower of Jesus.
According Romans 5:12-21, we were natural born sinners. We were born in Adam, born in sin, and born condemned. We came out of the womb saying no to God and his purposes for our lives. We were dead in our sins and trespasses. We lived according to the passions of our sinful nature. We were, by nature, children of wrath.
We were liars
We were thieves
We were cheaters
We were swindlers
We were adulterers
We were idolaters
We were greedy
We were disrespectful
We thought we were God.
We lived like practical atheists
We were angry.
We were jealous and envious
We were drunkards
We were ungrateful
We were enemies of God
We were rotten to the core
There was nothing grimmer than our Pre-Christ hopelessness. But God.
In Ephesians 2:4, however, Paul uttered the greatest phrase of hope and grace in human speech: "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, But God, . . .made us alive together with Christ-- by grace you have been saved"
God showered his grace on us, and this grace flowed from his loving heart, not based on anything we did to deserve it. When we believed in and embraced Jesus as our Savior and Lord (which was an act of grace) - God gave us new spiritual life within. Praise God!
Therefore, our response to this amazing grace is another word that is built on the word grace, "thank you." God gives us something that we don't deserve, so he can get the desired responses, which are praise and thanksgiving. Grace is always the first word and "thank you" should always be the second.
Today, spend some time thinking about God's amazing and saving grace.

Is Healing For All?

Is Healing For All?
Dr. Frederick K.C. He tells the truth!
He says, "Whatever things you ask...."
Wouldn't that have to include healing? Yes, it does.
Therefore, it must be God's will to heal. Otherwise
He could not make that kind of bold declaration.
"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray"
-not after you pray, not a month later, not when you see something,
not when you understand it, but "when you pray,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them."
If you believe you receive them you will confess that,
"Bless the Lord-I believe I am healed,
I believe I have received my healing."
Now, once you make a faith confession
you are going to get opposite from the enemy.
His motive is to move you off your faith confession.
Someone might say...
"Yes, but you don't look like you are healed."
I didn't say, "I look like I'm healed," I said, "
I believe that I received my healing."
"Yes, but how do you feel?"

"Bless God, I am not going by how I feel-
I am going by what I believe-and I believe
I am healed, in Jesus' Name."
"Yes, but that doesn't make sense."
"That's right; it is not sense, it's faith."
"Yes, but that's illogical."
"You're right again; it's not logic, it's faith."
"Yes, but I just don't understand that."
"I don't understand how it works either,
but I believe it is true because God said it in His Word."
Listen friend, I don't understand how television works,
but I believe if I turn it on, I can watch a movie.
The fact that I don't understand
how it works does not stop me from enjoying
the benefits of watching my favorite TV programs in living color.
I don't understand how a gasoline engine works.
I don't understand how it works inside without blowing up
the whole thing. Instead of blowing up it pushes
a piston down that drives a crank-shaft that turns
a drive-shaft to the rear wheels that turns the wheels
when you put it in gear that moves the car forward.
I don't understand it, but I could care less-all
I want to know is that when I turn that thing on and put it in gear,
it is going and that is all that I'm concerned about. How about you?
I don't know how an airplane stays up in the sky,
as big as a 747 is-that thing is gigantic. How does it stay up in the air?
The good news is that I don't have to understand it to
get on the plane and fly from Los Angeles to Hawaii or
somewhere else. All I have to do is believe the plane can fly me there,
get on board and go. After all, that is what you want anyway-the results-right?
Praise God! You don't have to do any more than believe that
you receive your healing based on the Word of God and you shall have it!
Is healing for all? I believe that it is so.
I believe that I can walk in divine health all the days of my life.
I believe and confess that I will never be sick and I'm not being presumptuous.
The Bible says in Psalm 91:1, "
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
I believe I'm right in there under His right wing-right up under that wing.
God Himself said in verse 10, "...
No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling."
Whose dwelling place is God talking about?
My dwelling place because I am under His shadow of protection.
What is a plague? Isn't that sickness and disease?
God said, ""...No evil shall befall you,
nor shall any plague come near your dwelling."
Well, I guess God lied. No, He is not a man that
He should lie. He went on to say, in verse 16,
"With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.
" Praise God! Healing is for all.
Oh, that's not to say I'm not attacked. I'm attacked.
The devil just sits like a blood hound-every morning
I wake up he's sitting right on the foot of the bed.
Sometimes he throws that dart the right way,
but it doesn't stop me and it won't stop me because
I'm being strong-not in Fred Price-but I'm being "
strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."

The Spiritual Test

The Spiritual Test
Dr. Michael Youssef

We can all remember our school days when we were faced with exams.
We spent all day in school-and still we panicked when it came to test time.
Why? Perhaps it's because our time in the classroom was only one part of the learning process. The other part was time at home engaging with the material through homework, worksheets, and flashcards-all designed to prepare us for exams and to make sure we had a grasp of the material and were headed in the right direction.
The exam brought panic because it was the culmination of all of our hard work and the measure of our direction and mastery of the material.
These exams and tests were for our benefit.
They measured our growth, highlighted our strengths and weaknesses, and guided us to the paths we should take.
The same is true of our spiritual lives. We face tests and exams on a spiritual level, but they count for greater consequences because the results of these tests are indicators of our eternal future.
We must examine ourselves with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and always be ready to be tested. Always being ready for exams is foundational to a positive life in Christ. Throughout 2 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul wrote about all that God taught him and what gave him power to live positively in Christ in the midst of fear, trepidation, imprisonment, and flogging.
In his conclusion to this letter he says, "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!" (2 Corinthians 13:5, NASB).
The Corinthians of old fell into the trap that some of our modern educators have fallen into today. If students are not keeping up and succeeding in school, some believe that the standards must be too high-so they lower the standards. The problem is that lowering the standards and changing the curriculum doesn't insist on accountability.
When we refuse to examine ourselves on a regular basis we are taking God's grace and salvation for granted. But don't miss the fabulous news: In this test that the Bible talks about, we can be always a success. Even those who fail the test can succeed.
If you examine yourself on a daily basis and find that you are in the faith, then you will be overjoyed by His grace and mercy and will give God the glory. But if you examine yourself and find that you have moved away from the truth, then God has given you an engraved invitation to repent and to return to the truth.
God promised in His Word to receive anyone who turns to Him. The moment you come face to face with the reality that you have departed from the faith by sinning gravely and you repent, God in His grace and mercy receives you. He embraces you. He forgives you. He restores you. You are, again, overjoyed by His grace and mercy and give God the glory.
Either way, God is glorified. Examine yourself.

Consider Your Ways

Consider Your Ways
Pastor Paula White

When something bad happens to us,we are often quick to ask,

"Why me, God?" Or, when somethinggood happens to someone else,
we may ask, "Why not me, God?"
In God's Word, we are instructed to ask questions of
Ourselves about ourselves when things are not going as
We had planned or desired. Haggai 1:5 - 6, tells us to
"Consider your ways" to find the root of many problems:
Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts;Consider your ways.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little;ye eat, but ye have not enough;
ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink;ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and
he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
In other words - if you feel like you're trying and trying,
but still not succeeding, it might be time to "consider your ways!"
It's time to consider what you are thinking...
what you're saying...and what you're doing.
Although asking tough questions of ourselves can be painful,
it is also often the key to breaking the mindsets,
belief systems, and behaviors that keep us from truly achieving our goals in life.
It's true that you might get uncomfortable
looking at yourself with such deep, introspective consideration.
You might not like all that you see when you stare long andhard into the depths of your own soul.
But you must be willing to identify, and then confront,
those things inside of you that continue to keep you from victory.
Remember: you can't conquer what you don't confront!
A man once told me it took him two years to venture into
his basement after he'd moved into a new home.
When he finally descended the staircase,he didn't like what he saw!
"I found evidence of critters that had made their way through
a broken window screen; there was rust onthe water heater that was troublesome;
there was debris everywhere, and the critters had made
their way into boxes of old clothing andpaperwork I'd put there when I first moved in. It was a mess!"
It took the man four weekends and two trips to thecity dump to get the basement in good order;
but after he'd accomplished the job, he said,"I felt like I'd moved a mountain.
Nobody else was aware of the work I'd done,
but I certainly slept better at night knowing thatI had a reliable water heater, and
a clean organized basement I could actually use."
Cleaning out, sorting, or repairing the damage in
your inner self is very much like the work thatman had to do to clean out his wreck of a basement.
It's hard work - and nobody else may see orappreciate what you're doing. But it's incredibly beneficial,
and may be the key to restoring order to things inyour life that are out of order.
So take the first step and "consider your ways" to break through to victory, God's way!
Transform Lives, Heal Hearts and Win Souls.
Empower Your Tongue With The Word Of God

Empower Your Tongue With The Word Of God
Pastor Paula White
There are literally hundreds of Bible verses dealing with "the tongue" ...about what we should or shouldn't say or speak...and the power of words over our lives.
One of the bluntest statements on this topic is found in Proverbs 18:21:
Death and life are in the power of the tongue...
God's Word encourages us to give expression to our noblest and highest thoughts. Thoughts give rise to spoken words. When we "speak life" we are thinking and expressing out of our faith in God's Word, in obedience to His will,
and in appreciation of His blessing over our lives.

Proverbs 21:23: Whosoever keepeth his mouth and
his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
To empower our tongue to speak blessing over our lives and the lives of others,
one of the best things we can do is learn to speak God's Word spontaneously in response to life situations. Speaking God's Word is also how we encourage and motivate ourselves. It's how we activate our faith.
Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
At some point in our past, perhaps words were spoken to us, at us, or over us that didn't match up with what God intends for our lives. Rather than replaying "old tapes" in your head -- of the "negative talk" that's been said to you or about you -- it's important to start making new tapes. Fill your mind -- and your mouth! -- with positive statements that you can speak and affirm over your life...that match up with what God has decreed for you.
Psalm 40:3: And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God...
Remind yourself of God's desire to bless you. Speak words of truth to yourself about His plans for you! Just as you speak and write affirmations to yourself, admonish yourself, too. To admonish is to advise - and sometimes, insist! Think of admonition as "preaching to yourself." When you admonish yourself, you are preaching what you know you need to hear! Speak to yourself what you know to be the truth of God's Word, and His commandments given to bless your life.
Here are some possible suggestions:
"God wants me to have good health - physically, emotionally, and spiritually."
"God wants me to have good relationships - with family and friends who will love and value me."
"God wants me to have peace in my heart - calm assurance that He will always protect me and provide for me in personal and eternal ways."
Speaking words like these, and repeating Bible verses that inspire you throughout the day, will strengthen your faith, draw you closer to God in intimate and abiding relationship, and empower you to lead a life of victory through Christ.
So watch your mouth, and empower your tongue -- with the Word of God!

The Power Of The Tongue

The Power Of The Tongue
Dr. Zachary Tims, Jr.

No matter what the world may say, life is NOT short.
It is a long journey of experience as we strive to navigate through life's cycles.
Even the best of us hit the curbs, the bumps, the pits, and struggle in the valleys.
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us from them all."
God in His divine foreknowledge, purpose, and
plan has made provisions for us to get through the hard places in life.
This is a message on the Valley of Dry Bones that will set you free.
In Ezekiel 37, there were a lot of problems going on in the Valley of Dry Bones.
The children of Israel were a mess. They were scattered, disconnected, disjointed and dead. God asked Ezekiel if the dry bones could live, and Ezekiel told God, "You know."
Then God commanded Ezekiel to speak to the dry bones, "hear the word of the Lord." With the power of God in his tongue, Ezekiel spoke the word to the dry bones, "...and you shall live!" and they came back to life.
The power of the tongue can heal and deliver. Your problems will respond when you start speaking the right things to them. God will turn it around in your favor. He will resolve your problems when you receive the Word of the Lord, and start speaking it over your life...."Weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning." "...for this too shall pass."
"God is going to make a way for me, for with God nothing is impossible."
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength."
"I've never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging for bread."
Yes, the power of the tongue will send a message to hell, "devil, I'm coming back and the gates of hell cannot prevail against me!"
What do you say to the scattered bones of your dreams, and the dried up promises in your valley? "What say ye?" You use the power of your tongue to speak to your situation, "Live!" You have to resolve to make life happen. The issues of cancer, violent relationships, failures, employment challenges, financial problems, and every adversity the devil tries to put on you in your negative cycles are subject to the power of the tongue. It must go!
Use your tongue to bring others out of the valley. Remember to sow the seed of encouragement into other people's lives, even if you too are going through the valley.
Life is not short, the journey is long and problems may keep coming. Yet, the power of the tongue must say, "Hear ye the Word of the Lord, these dry bones shall live!"

A Donkey’s Biography

A Donkey’s Biography

One day I got a Prophecy that
“One Righteous King will Ride on you”.
I was waiting for the King. While I was waiting for a King,

a man whose name is Balaam took me as his servant.

I was with him many days.
He was a prophet.
Many times God said to him “don’t go with the princess of Moab”

I also heard it. Because he was greedy of money,he went there.

God’s anger was aroused and He sent an Angel and took

His Stand in the way as an adversary against him.
The princess of Moab and others were saying
He was a prophet, but he did not see the
Angel of Lord Standing in the way with
His drawn sword in His hand.
By His Grace He showed me His Angel
And Fear of The Lord came on me and
I turned aside out of the way and went into the field.

I was under His guidance,
However, the man name Balaam could not see the Angel and he struck me.
Again, Angel of The Lord stood in a narrow path between the vineyards,
There were two walls; one on this side and one on the other side.

I saw the Angel of The Lord again
I crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall,
However, he struck me again.
“Then the angel of the LORD moved on ahead
And stood in a narrow place
Where there was no room to turn,

either to the right or to the left”Numbers: 22:26.

Then I lay down under Balaam.
He struck me with his staff.
I was in obedience to the Lord. He thought
I had abused him. He planned to kill me.
At last, God revealed Himself before him.
He saw the Angel of The Lord standing in the way
with His drawn sword in hand.

Again, I was waiting for the fulfillment of His prophecy,

which God said to me
“One Righteous King will Ride on you”.

Again,
I waited! Waited! Waited
for the Great Day.

Now I was in this situation like Jawbone.

Then a man; name Samson took me in his hand and killed a thousand men.

“Then Samson said,
"With a donkey's jawbone
I have made donkeys of them.
With a donkey's jawbone
I have killed a thousand men”Judges: 15:16.

Again,
I waited! Waited! Waited
for the Great Day.

Then The Spirit of The Lord came upon me
And said
“O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!

Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones:
“Surely I will cause breath to enter into you,
And you shall live.
I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and
Put breath in you; and you shall live.

Then you shall know that I am the LORD.”Ezk: 37:4-6.
while the Prophecy was coming upon me I heard a Noise and

I heard a Prophecy to the winds that
“Come from the four winds,
O breathes, and breathes on these slain,
That they may live.”’Ezk: 37:10.
After that, I stood on the feet and got Great strength.
Then I stayed there near to Bethpage and

Bethany at the mountain called Olivet.
I forgot about the Prophecy that
“One Righteous King will Ride on you”.
But He did not forget the Prophecy,
which He said to me.
While I was simply staying there like Moses:
“Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law,

the priest of Midian,
And saw that though the bush was on fire
It did not burn up”
I also heard a sound like Moses heard.

It was Jesus’ Two disciples Sound.

Jesus said to them about me that
“You will find a colt tied. Loose it and bring it here. While they were loosing me,
Some persons asked to them
“Why are You loosing the Colt ?. They said,
“The Lord has Need of him”
I was Amazed that There were many chariots, horses and Big Angels also with Him
And for Him, but He is asking me for Himself.

I had a question in my mind;
“Why He is asking for me?

Then they brought me to Jesus and they threw
Their own Good Clothing on me and
They set Jesus on me.

Not only that many spread their clothes on the road.
Then I heard a sound.
“When he came near the place where the road
Goes down the Mount of Olives,
The whole crowd of disciples
Began joyfully to praise God in
Loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

"Blessed is the King who comes in the
Name of the Lord!"
"Peace in Heaven and Glory in the Highest!"
Luke: 19:37, 38.
Now I am remembering the Prophecy,
which God said to me years before.
“One Righteous King will Ride on you”.
He is fulfilling His prophecy in
His Own Way.

Thank God.

Lord
You are Worthy
I am unworthy

I worshiped Him and He gave me His Joy in me.
"Blessed is the King who comes in the
Name of the Lord!"
"Peace in Heaven and Glory in the Highest!"

…………………………………………………..
Bro.Biju Thomas, Varkala. www.prayerhome.org

Prayer Home Varkala,Trivandrum,Kerala,INDIA.

“My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land
that they may dwell with me” psalm: 101:6.
Bro.BijuThomas

Theophilus Bhavan
Our website: www.prayerhome.org

Ministry Status:From 2007: She is beautifully connected with our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. She is the Daughter-in-Law of Abraham, the Wife of Isaac, Mother of Jacob, Daughter of Bethuel and Sister of Laban. Apart from Sarah, Leya and Rachel, Rebekah is unique in so many specialties. To fulfill the promises of God she had taken a lot of pain and strain. In the life of Sarah, Leya and Rachel they had so many shortcomings. They lived just like ordinary women. They thought, hoped and acted like ordinary women folk. But the case of Rebekah is different. She paid clearly for everything she gained in her life. She paid a high price to gain her husband Isaac. Let us examine the history of Rebekah in the light of the Bible.
Abraham and Jacob were ready to face many difficulties and render many sacrifices in their life to fulfill the promises of God. But Isaac was submissive to God only in the early stages of his life. In his olden days he was reluctant to be submissive to God’s will. If Rebekah was not there as his wife, God’s promises would not have been fulfilled. This is the place where she shined. Let us examine the incidents in her life one by one.
Abraham called his Chief servant near him and made him swear that he will not take a girl from the community among whom they are living as the wife of Isaac. Instead he asked him to go to the relatives of Abraham to find a Wife for his son Isaac. The servant raised a doubt that if the girl is not willing to come with him what would be done. Abraham replied to him in unmistakable terms that he should never take Isaac to the native land. The meaning is very clear. That girl should come to this place leaving for family and relatives just like Abraham did obeying the Command of the Lord. Abraham had implicit faith in the promises of the God of Heaven and Earth. “By faith Abraham when called to go a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” (Hebrews 11:8)
As per the instructions from Abraham his servant started his journey with so many precious gifts from his master he reached Mesopotamia, the land of Nahore. Ten camels accompanied him. The servant was just like Abraham. He was fully confident that God will take care of everything regarding his mission. He was waiting for the signs of Gods and deeds. He knew that he was only a tool in the hands of God.
Now a day’s so many people are sweating and toiling in God’s work. If you ask them how they are toiling them we can see that they are working very hard according to their own will. They will not seek God’s will, or His words or the plan of God. They go on working. Sowing is over, harvesting is over, but no new soul is saved. Whatever souls left behind is not maintained properly. They are also telling that they are working very hard to spread the Gospel.
Our present requirement is not the hard work as shown above. We require fervent prayer, pray very hard; do the work of the gospel as per the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Instead of doing our will, submit ourselves before God to do His Will. Then we will grow. Our work will be blessed.
Let us see what the servant of Abraham did. He reached the town of Nahore. He released the camels outside the gates of the town near a well. Then he prayed – “O Lord, God of my master Abraham”. A person who is praying like this will be an asset to any institution (organization). The secret of certain churches flourishing before the eyes of God and man is that there is a group of people who are always praying in the same way as the servant of Abraham. Innocence and faithfulness are the basic pre requisites for the growth of the church.
His prayer continues – “O Lord, God of my master Abraham, gives me success today and show kindness to my master Abraham. He is not praying to give him success, but to show kindness to his master”. Here I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of town’s people are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a girl ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink’, and she says ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’ – let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master”.
“If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles” (Mathew 5:41). This is the way for getting blessings. Rebekah took this path. Many of us are not blessed because we are not blessed because we are not following this principle. Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel whose mother is Milka, the wife of Nahor. Abraham’s brother came near the spring with her jar. She is well engrossed in her work. She was not aware of anybody looking at her.
She went into the spring, filled her jar and came up. The servant approached her without wasting time. The work of God is like this. We may think that nothing will happen. Then God will start His work. The servant said to her: ‘Please give me a little water from your jar’. ‘Drink my Lord’ she said, quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink. When God’s hands worked quickly she also acted quickly. She was not at all aware of the immeasurable blessings which are going to come due to this single act.
She illustrates her character. “I will draw water for your camels too, until they have finished drinking” she said. She takes good care of those who come to her and related to her. During the short time he was drinking water she took notice of this stranger that she will draw water to his camels until they have stopped drinking. She is not telling him how much she will draw till they have quenched their thirst. Since she is not measuring the quantity of water she had drawn, the quantity of blessings she was to receive was also not measured by her. She went into the spring innumerable times to fill the jar so that the camels may drink as much as they want. She did what she said and proved the sincerity of her words. She was not expecting any returns (reward). This should be the way to fulfill God’s work and His will. We should not expect any reward. We should not look for any gain or loss. Even if it is a loss I will submit to myself to God’s will. We should take such decision. Whatever we can do, do it and patiently wait for God’s will.
He watched her carefully. God is also watching us carefully. He examines each and every one of our activity. “Without saying a word, the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the Lord had made his journey successful. When God is silent to our prayers we become tired. The word of God says “Be quiet and know that I am your Lord God”. So whatever happens don’t complaint or murmur. Be steadfast in God and patiently wait for His will to unveil.
When the camels had finished drinking the man took out a gold nose ring weighing ten shekels and then he asked “whose daughter are you”. “Please tell me, is there room in your fathers house for us to spend the night?” She answered the first question. “I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son that Milka bore to Nahor. For the second question also she proved the worth by telling him “We have plenty of straw and fodder as well as room for you to spend the night. God is also like this. To start with, He will ask something from us. But when He starts giving, you cannot measure how much He is giving. Once a prophet asked for death and lied under a broom tree. But he did not see death instead he was taken to heaven by angels when he had fulfilled his mission.
Then the man bowed down and worshipped the Lord. When God answer our prayer the first thing we have to do is Thank Him and Worship Him. Most of us are not doing this. So the blessings stop there. He prayed “Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham who had not abandoned His kindness and faithfulness to my master. As for me, The Lord has led me on the journey to the house if my master’s relatives”. The girl (Rebekah) ran and told her mother’s household about these things. Rebekah had a brother named Laban, and he hurried out to the man at the spring. As soon as he had seen the nose ring and the bracelets on his sister’s arms, and had heard Rebekah told what the man said to her, he went out to the man and found him standing by the camels near the spring. “Come you who are blessed by the Lord” he asked, “Why are you standing out there? I have prepared the house and a place for the camels”. So the man went to the house and the camels were unloaded. After giving him water for cleaning himself food was set before him. Then he said “I will not eat until I tell you what I have to say”.
It is to be noted that a servant left aside all his personal needs to fulfill the mission entrusted him by his master. God have to accomplish great things by such people who are ready to sacrifice everything and bear hardships for the benefit of others and for the kingdom of God. There are so many people who are unable to taste good food. Not because of scarcity, but because of stringent food control due to sickness if sore throat. Our body is a temple of God. In the temple of Gods’, if God’s will is not revealed it will become the hole of thieves and urchins. The first thing essential for the temple of God is holiness. If you are not able to preserve the holiness in five senses if your body, then the temple becomes the abode of thieves. Secondly, this temple would be a permanent burning lamp. Thirdly, there shall be worships, thanks giving, praises and prayers in the temple. If these are not there, then also the temple becomes the hole of thieves. When you are healthy and able to take any food, then you must take fasting and harness your body. You should overcome sin in the body and make the soul free.
When we are not able to fulfill all these things then the temple becomes the hole of thieves. When God cannot live in the temple the enemy will take his place in order to acquire the promises of God the servant of Abraham said “I will not like food until I have told you what I have to say”.
Gideon set out for war with 32000 people. He asked to retreat those who are afraid. 22000 returned. Only 10000 remained. He conducted another shifting. Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink. 300 men lapped with their hands to their mouth. All the rest got down on their knees to drink”. It is to be noted that all these people were separated for war. Their aim and eyes should always be focused on the movements of the enemy. The eyes of those who lapped the drink with their hands were always focused on the enemy. Their attention was not diverted even at the time of drinking water. Those who kneel down and drank were not at all attentive of the enemy’s movements. But the chosen 300 were very keen all the time even when they were drinking water or taking food. They did give the least importance to food and drink at the time of war with the enemy. Only such people are fit for the work of God.
Abraham’s servant was such a man. He was going to fulfill his mission before taking any food. He said ‘God has blessed my master abundantly. When they became very old, they gave them a son. Whatever my master has got, everything will be given to their son in due time. He asked me to go to his relatives to find a girl as wife of his son Isaac. He narrated the means by which he found the proper match. He told them that he is convinced that Rebekah is destined to be the wife of Isaac. He requested them “If you are kind and faithful to my master kindly do accordingly”.
When they got up in the next morning he said, send me on my way to my master. They asked Rebekah whether she was willing to go with this man. Bethuel and Laban were two responsible persons. They knew that Rebekah was a girl who showed maturity and responsibility surpassing her tender age and further she had got immense willpower. She was a girl capable of taking right decisions at the proper time. If she says ‘No’, then that will be a correct decision. If she says ‘Yes’, that will also be the correct decision.
At this juncture I think it is proper to bring your attention to an incident happened recently. A pastor’s daughter was studying in a college. She was a pretty girl. One of the boy in her class felt an infatuation towards her. One day he told her that he was in love with her. But the girl was not able to discern his intentions. Further if she discourage him that will create unpleasant scene which she wanted to avoid. So she said to him that she is the daughter of a pastor of a certain church and if he is really interested in her, he would come for the Sunday worship in her church and meet her father after the service. Accordingly, the next Sunday this boy and his friend came to the church and after the service met the pastor. The pastor advised them to attend the church regularly. After a short time, both the boys accepted Jesus and they were saved and they have become two servants of God now. Further the boy confessed her that he was having some bad intentions about her and apologized her. This is the way how wise girls handle difficult situations. She did not act against the word of God to build a future herself.
Rebekah was a headstrong girl she grasped the plan of God for her future. She said to her father and brother “I will go”. The members of her family whole heartedly accepted her decision. With their blessings she entered into the married life. Just like Abraham who set out his journey to the Promised Land by faith she also set our journey accompanied with her maid servants along with the servant of Abraham.
One evening Isaac went to the field to meditate and when he looked up he saw camels approaching. Depending on God he was taking preparations for his future life. Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac. She got down from the camel and asked the servant “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?” “He is my master” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself. The beauty of a girl lies in her bashfulness. When Isaac knew everything from the servant he received her. She became his wife. He loved her. It is proper to love after marriage and not before.
Together they prayed for the next blessing from God. Jehovah heard their prayer. Rebekah became pregnant. The babies each other with in her and she asked “why is this happening to me”. So she went to enquire of the Lord. The Lord said to her “Two nations are in your womb and two people from within you will be separated: one will be stronger than the other and the elder will serve the younger”. While the babies were in her womb, the plan of God was revealed to them. God told them that the elder one will serve the younger.
From her womb, Esau came out first and Jacob followed. In the eyes of man Esau was the elder son, but in the eyes of God, Jacob was the elder one. That is the reason for all the blessings he got from God. Blessings from God will come only to those who are humble before Him. Even Jesus Himself was not exempted from this principle.
Jesus “who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God, something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name” (Philippians 2:6-9)
The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter and a man of the open country, while Jacob was a quiet man staying among the tents. There are so many girls and boys growing in different families. But who knows who will become an asset to the kingdom of God? The Holy Spirit had given me revelations about so many children, those who are born and not yet born. The life span of a man is either seventy or at the maximum eighty. Still we have to continue the work of God. Therefore we have to take extreme care to bring up children. Too much love and care will spoil them. If they do not get sufficient love and care they will become rough. Therefore it is advisable to give them love little by little just as dew drops. You submit them and entrust them in the hands of God. You should deal with them softly and never make them angry. We will give utmost care and wisdom in all your dealings. Isaac loved Esau very much because of the tasty food he prepared out of wild game. This is the starting point where Isaac went wrong. And this is the point where Rebekah proved her mettle and obedience towards the promise of the Lord. She knew very well the weakness of Isaac regarding the tasty food from wild game.
He was ready to disregard the promise of God that the elder one will serve the younger, only to fill his stomach with some tasty food from games. This is a stumbling block for many of the servants of God. Initially they perform powerful ministries and slowly they lose their power and anointing because of the weakness of the flesh. When they get money or modern facilities and amenities, position and power they forget their sordid past or how they started their carrier. They may look down upon other servants of God who are still living very power and pass judgment against them that they are sinners and that is why they are not blessed. Instead of helping such people they totally ignore them. But the affluent servant does not realize the peril he is in wrought by the curses of the poor. For certain others their children are their weakness. They are not satisfied by the care provision of God. They further lavish their care and love towards their children and spoil them ultimately. They are tormented by a mild sickness or fever to their children. But the child of a servant of God or a believer living next door if fatally ill and unable to get any help or their sufferings will not affect this gentleman. The weaknesses of some others are the lust of flesh. For certain others the business other than the bible is their weakness. To have the game flesh Isaac was ready to disregard the promise of the Lord. But Rebekah realized the fact the Jacob is the promised son and brought him up obediently. It is to be understood tat Rebekah had played a major role to buy the birth right of Esau to Jacob. To fulfill the promise of God the elder one should serve the younger. When there was acute famine Isaac went to Abimelech, the king of the Philistines in Gerar. Jehovah intervened there when Isaac went astray from the plan of God. The Lord appeared to Isaac and said “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live” (Gen 26:2)
When Esau was forty he married the daughter of Bery and Basamath who was the daughter of Alon. Both of them were. This was the result of overlooking the mistakes done by Esau because of the tasty food he prepared for Isaac now and then. Isaac and Rebekah were disgusted with the wives of Esau. (Gen 26:35)
There are a number of reasons for feeling heavy of heart. In connection with the work of God you may have to suffer hardships and feel heavy of heart. When you are acting against the word of God then you will also have to face difficulties and may feel heavy of heart. But these are all not alke. For the first one you will be rewarded. For the second one you will get punishment. If somebody is feeling sad do not judge him or try to discern the cause. Do sympathize with him. Don’t say that ‘He deserves it”. Perhaps you also may have to go through the same experience one day or the other.
Even after giving through all these experience Isaac was moving against the will of God. ‘He called for his elder son and said to him
“My son”
“Here I am” he answered.
Isaac said “I am now an old man and don’t know the day of my death. Now then, get your weapons- your quiver and bow- and go out to the open country to have some wild game for me”. “Prepare me the kind of tasty food I like and bring it to me to eat, so that I may give you my blessing before I die” (Gen 27:2-4). As per the word of God the blessing would have to come to Jacob. But Isaac was deliberately trying to act against the will of God.
At the time of Abraham’s sacrifice, Isaac perfectly obeyed his father and the will of God to be the object of the burnt offering. Now he moved far from God and was going to act against the will of God for the sake of some tasty food from wild game. From a man like Isaac, such a deed is not expected. It is to be noted that Isaac or any other servant of God acting against the order of God for selfish motives; the resultant strain, sufferings and pain to those who are connected to him are undesirable.
One more point is to be considered at this moment. Esau had married two girls and mingled with the customs of the gentiles which is contrary to the word of God. Isaac was quite obvious of the tremendous and harmful impact which may come if he gives all the blessings due for the elder son. A few or our servants of God order their sons or near relatives to continue the work of God after them. At times, it may be as per the will of God. Jacob had come into this category. But Isaac was trying to act against the will of God only because of the tasty food prepared from the will game by Esau, who had fallen from the grace of God and mingled with the gentiles.
But Rebekah had an inner revelation about the plans of Isaac. She knew the devils purpose which was going to be manifested through Isaac. While Esau was out for hunting she thought about a plan depending on the promise of God. It is to be remembered that among members of the same family, the plan of God and the evil designs of the enemy (devil) is revealed. If a person like Rebekah (who is God fearing, praying always and depending God for everything) is not in a family, such a family will become the workshop of the devil. Therefore the presence of a lady like Rebekah is inevitable in every family.

Rebekah called her son Jacob near her and told him the plan of the enemy unveiled through Isaac. She told him to bring two choice young goats to prepare some tasty food for Isaac just the way he like it “then take it to your father to eat so that he may give you the blessings before he dies”. Jacob said to Rebekah, his mother “But my brother Esau is a hairy man and I am a man with smooth skin. What it my father touched me? I would appear to be tricking him and would bring down a curse on myself rather than a blessing”.
The nature of Jacob was that he will not act according to the advice of people even if it is from his own mother. Even though he was smooth skinned and docile God had provided him with a sharp intellect. He was very keen tried to avoid any wrong doings from his part.
To fulfill the promise of God, his mother was ready to bear the curse. Just like became a curse at the cross of cavalry, Rebekah also became a curse to fulfill the perfect will of God. This is a very special kind of ministry which very few can perform. What is that ministry? It is to become ready to bear the evils and dangers which may come as a result of the sins of others. That is to suffer for others so that they may be saved. If such a person is there, the enemy cannot touch the real ones before shattering the intercessor. This mission is not meant for everybody. If you are doing it without permission you are liable to be bruised all over. It is a very special ministry of a very secret nature. It is not advisable to perform this ministry by those who are not humble and obedient and not in strict conformity to the will of God.
But Rebekah is having this special grace from God. So she said to him “My son, let the curse fall on me, just does what I say: go and get him for me”. So he went and got them and brought to his mother and she prepared some tasty food, just the way his father liked it. Let us have a detailed study of this family. He father (head) of this family stands to fulfill the plans of the enemy. Esau becomes his tool. Mother stands for the fulfillment of the will of God. Jacob becomes her tool. The plan of the enemy lies shattered. ‘When God arise, his enemies are shattered (Ps 68:1). Let us see how the enemy’s plans lie here scattered.

A. The plan of the enemy
1. Isaac who acted in conformity with
The plan of the enemy is inside the house.
2. His tool that Esau is outside in the field.
3.  The object to fulfill the plan of the enemy;
The wild game is hiding else where
        in the jungle.
When the enemies plan, he shattered the plan of God and remains united.
B. The plan of God
1. Rebekah who thought about the plan of God is inside the house.
2. Jacob, the tool is inside the house.
3. The object to fulfill the plan of God is also inside the house.

Even before completing the first step of the enemies plan. God’s plan is already fulfilled in the house. Rebekah prepared the tasty food which Isaac liked and she handed it over to Jacob. “Then Rebekah took the best clothes of Esau her older son, which she had in the house and put them on her younger son, Jacob. She also covered his hands and the smooth part of his neck with the goat skins. These are all the acts of man. But with these acts alone the God’s plan cannot be fulfilled. For that God himself has to come down and finish the work. If He who do great wonder single handed would not come down and fight against the enemy. He cannot ensure success. God’s plan should be fulfilled at any cost. So God came down to fight. Isaac became very old and he lost eye sight.
God’s hands worked on Isaac and that is the reason why he became blind. If he was not blind, the plans of God would have failed and Jacob would not have got the blessings. The spiritual eyesight will be lost when you are going astray from the path of God. You will not get the thought and revelation of God as of old. Whatever you get will be as revelation of the body and the spirit of evil. So it is vitally important that you should check frequently whether your spiritual insight is lost or not. The fallen one will not realize that he is fallen. But when you are fasting and spending hours together in the presence of the Lord, then he will let you know your actual state oaf affairs. The word of God will tell you what to do. “I counsel you to buy from me salve to put on your eyes, so that you can see” (Rev 3:8).
Salvation is free for all. But to get the grace and fruit of the Holy Spirit to firm in the ministry you will have to pay a very high price.
What is it that asks you to pay the price and buy? In the eyes of man ‘Price’ means money. In the eyes of God ‘Price’ is something else. Let us see the price one by one.
>Obey the word of God to the syllable.
>Always walk in the presence of God.
>Without considering gain or loss obey the
   Holy Spirit in all things.
>Whatever comes from God?
Whether it is good or bad, accept it thanks giving.
>By fasting overcome the lust of the body and
Be obedient to the Spirit of God.
>Strictly control your tongue and speak only
Good things to please the Holy Spirit.
>Even if the atmosphere is not conducive for prayer as
Even adverse situations bow your knees before God and
>Pray as per the Holy Spirit lead you.
>Honor the anointed ministries of God.
>Be calm and unperturbed when you face injustice,
Abuse, shame, loss, indignation from others.
>Try to help those who deserve materially and
Spiritually when you are able to that.
>Remember it is a sin if you are not helping them when you can.
>Respect all servants of God without considering their status
>This is the price you have to pay before Lord.
At times he may ask for some more precious things from His servants.
If you are ready to pay them you will be honored and blessed
By God in hundred thousand folds.
There are so many examples for that in the Bible which we see later.

Isaac became very old and he lost his eye sight. He was a powerful and mighty man at his youth and middle age. Today also we can see such people who were very powerful and mighty (spiritually) but who lost their spiritual and physical capabilities when they get very old. The reason is very simple. At their youth and middle age they were steadfast in the path of God and ready to render any sacrifice due to the love of God. But when they become physically weak by old age they are not ready to do anything for the love once they had for God. As game flesh was a weakness for Isaac there may be some other weaknesses which they are unable to overcome.
Jacob approached Isaac with the tasty food prepared by Rebekah. He adorned the dress of Esau. Excepting the voice Isaac identified him as Esau. Without taking any further serenity Isaac ate the food and drank the wine and he was going to bless him. Before blessing Isaac asked Jacob to kiss him. He identified smell of the dress of Esau and thinking that it was his elder son he blessed him. At this moment what was Isaac thinking. He was feeling happy that he was upsetting the plan of God that ‘The elder one will serve the younger’. He became a mere tool in the hands of the enemy. He lost his senses and did not think that God is omnipotent and more powerful than the enemy. Isaac blessed him “May God give you of heaven’s dew and earth’s richness – an abundance of grain and wine. May nations serve you, and peoples bow down to you. Be Lord over your brothers and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you to be blessed”. Soon after he got the blessing Jacob left her father.
Isaac trembled violently with fear when Esau approached him with special food which his father liked very much. Why Isaac trembled violently and whom he was afraid of? No doubt, he was terrified by God. Even though he had plotted against God to bless Esau, the blessings came down to Jacob and Jacob only as per the will of God. He understood that nobody can subvert the will of God. This revelation came to him and that was the reason for his violent trembling.

In another instance king David was also trembled like this. To bring the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim, David assembled all the Israelites. They were bringing the ark of God the Lord in a new bull cart. ‘When they approached the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached put his hand to steady the ark, because the oxen stumbled. The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah and he struck him down and because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God’. David was afraid of God that day and asked. “How can I ever bring the ark of God to me?”
Elisha asked Gehazi “where have you been? “Your servant did not go anywhere, Gehazi answered. But Elisha said to him, “was not my spirit with you when the man down from his Chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money, or to accept clothes, olive grooves, Vine yards, flocks, herds or men servants and maid servants? Naaman’s leprosy will cling to you and your descendants for ever” (2 Kings 5:25-27) Then Gehazi went from Elisha’s presence and he was leprons, “as white as snow”. When this type of judgement comes from God even unbelievers will also be terrified of God.
Instead of consulting the Lord about the movement of the ark of God, the Levites and priests had decided to load the ark of God in a cart driven by oxen. When Uzzah stretched out his hand to steady the ark he was punished by instant death. Since God is not punishing sinners in this manner people are not afraid of God.
‘Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him’. He said to himself “the days of mourning for my father are near then I will kill my brother Jacob”. When Rebekah was told what her older son Esau had said, she sent for younger son Jacob and said to him. “Your brother Esau is consoling himself with the thought of killing you”. “Now then my son, do what I say: Flee at once to my brother Laban in Haran”. Stay with him for a while until your brothers fury subsides”. She knew that if Esau kills Jacob God’s plan will not be fulfilled. So strengthened refuge in the place she proposed.

Then she formulated another plan to send to Jacob to Haran (to Laban) by Isaac himself. Rebekah said to Isaac “I am disgusted with living because of these women (the wife of Esau). If Jacob takes a wife from among the women of this land, from women like these, my life will not be worth living”. So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him and commanded him: “Do not marry a Canaanite woman. Go at once to Paddan Aram to the house of your mother’s father Bethuel. Take a wife for yourself there, from among the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother. Thus Jacob was sent to the safest place.
Even though Isaac failed many times before God, through the timely intervention of Rebekah he was led to the fulfillment of the promises of God. Many a time she intervened like this to fulfill the will of God. Otherwise Isaac would not have reached the promises of God the Lord. I wistfully think that if God had raised a few dedicated ladies like Rebekah in our times. This world would have changed a lot better. Through them homes are built on strong foundations, Churches are built Ministry of God will be blessed, and honored and ultimately the nations become blessed and prosperous.

About The Author
Born and brought up in a Jacobite family in Thodupuzha in the state of Kerala.

In 1993 he had attended a retreat in Muringoor Divine Meditation Centre for one week.

After that he identified the call of God for his work and left his job in a

co operative institution and joined in a seminary in 1995.

After completion of studies in the seminary in 1999

he joined as a teacher in a Bible college. He got married in 2000.

In 2001 he came to Bangalore for further studies and for the work of God.

Passed course on 2004.

God was sent Oman for His ministry on 2003 and to Qatar on 2006.

Now he is doing ministry in Varkala a sea shore town

near Trivandrum the capital city of kerala state, India
Wife – Daisy.
